CARY, N.C.
The No. 1 Virginia men’s tennis team won its third consecutive ACC Tournament title and its fifth in the past six years by downing No. 20 Wake Forest 4-0 in Sunday’s final at the Cary Tennis Park. The Cavaliers won all three of its matches in the tournament by a 4-0 score, becoming the first team in ACC Tournament history to accomplish the feat.
“I am really proud of this championship,” said Virginia head coach Brian Boland. “We lost three of the best players in the country last year in Somdev Devvarman, Treat Huey and Teddy Angelinos. It says a lot about the young men on this team that they were able to step up this season. We have won five of the last six ACC Tournaments, but this one is really special.”
“The team is playing with a lot of confidence right now,” said Boland. “We have played a tough schedule and they have overcome some adversity.”
The Cavaliers receive the ACC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by winning the title. The field of 64 will be announced on April 28.
Congratulations to Coach Boland and the Virginia Cavaliers! We’re proud of you! You, too, can play with more Confidence! Go to our Products page to get your copy of The Confidence Factor today!

Peak Performance Training Speeds Up Recovery From Injury
Posted by Linda LeClaire | Posted in Peak Performance Training! | Posted on 21-03-2009
“The techniques that I learned from Linda LeClaire have helped me throughout my college tennis career. I missed the entire spring season of my junior year with a wrist injury. In coming back for my senior season I had to completely rebuild my forehand to take the stress off my right wrist.
I found that the concentration techniques including breathing, heart rate control, and positive mindset that I have gleaned from my work with Linda were able to speed my recovery. Despite the adjustments I was forced to make in the mechanics of my stroke, I have been able to return as a stronger player both tactically and mentally, allowing me to assume a starting role for my senior season.
I owe a significant amount of this comeback to Linda. Many thanks!”

Spring Break Tennis Hilton Head Island

“Stan, I’d like to thank you for recommending Peak Performance Training for our tennis program. I have enjoyed witnessing the change in attitude with our players in matches, practice, and together as a team since we met with Dr. Bryce Young over spring break. Our players really enjoyed hearing what he had to say and were captivated the whole time he was there. For one of our women’s players, it has been a complete turnaround in confidence for her on the court. She has really taken to heart the lessons Dr. Young taught us and it’s been great to see.
Statistically our teams have enjoyed a higher winning percentage and I attribute much of that to the work Dr. Young did for us in South Carolina. The women’s team is now 3-3 this spring, after a 1-15 fall. The men are 7-4, after a 7-15 record for all of last year.
We love hearing from Coaches and teams working with us. Thank you Coach Oestreich for your kind and generous comments. We also want to express our appreciation to coaches and Wartburg Alum Stan Vogel who have recommended Peak Performance Training with Dr. Bryce Young and Linda LeClaire to other Coaches and Programs.
